Paper*Cakes Design Team

Exciting news...Chelsea from Paper*Cakes has finally posted her summer design team, which includes mwah! AND I'M SO EXCITED!!! Chelsea is so cute... she lives in Canada, which is so very far away from Kentucky...it will be fun to get to know her and the rest of the ladies working on the design team too! I will probably be posting tutorials of some of my projects, so keep your eyes out for some cute cute stuff coming soon!

have you ever heard of a scrapbooking product called "glossy accents?" i just discovered it at the store a while back, and this is the first time i've tried it out. can you see it on the purple parts of the bird's wings? wherever you apply it, it makes a glossy surface overtop of your design. it's really pretty nifty...just dont shake the bottle or else it will get tiny airbubbles in it!

Giveaway

Alicia is sponsoring a giveaway featuring a couple of my items! One being a card and the other a little decorated composition notebook that i decorated. If you check out her blog, she has directions on how to get entries to win...there are a few different ways. So go check it out!

i had to run into target this morning to get a giftcard for my friend abby...she's getting married this weekend! so hobby lobby is right across the street (remember how i banned myself from going in there for a while!?) well i went in to just get a few colors of cardstock i need for a color challenge at dawns blog and they had ONE quickutz revolution. i've been trying to score one for the past few months. i couldn't believe it! (and i got it 40% off - it was my lucky day!)

and speaking of lucky days...i also won a "chi" flat iron off ebay this morning for an awesome price! thank goodness for paypal balances cause otherwise i'm broke!

:0) hope everyone is having a good week so far...it's halfway through already!

funny movie...

since i work for nbc, we get free advanced movie screening passes to see lots of movies before they actually are available to the public. tonight i invited my friend taylor to go see "the proposal" but when we got there we found out it was sold out. so i was bummed...we waited in line to see if we could get into another movie and "the hangover" was the next closest time so we signed up to see that one.

i laughed so hard i have a headache. and my cheeks hurt. and everytime i think about it i start to laugh again.

with that said, i think you can figure that i liked it. go see it if you haven't already. i now know why it brought in so much money at the boxoffice. go now!

*in crafty news, i've been working on a cute little project for the past week but its not getting done. ..so i should probably get off to it.

and my baby kittens are growing so much! here's a pic of the little cuties!

color inspiration #54

I haven't blogged in quite some time...it's hard to keep up! I've been working on a lot of crafts, playing with new baby kitties, and trying to keep my house clean amongs all of the drywall dust.

I made this card on Friday night while Michael was out in the garage working on his *new boat. Kristina's colors for this week look so refreshing together! ( And I watched Top Gun while I was making it...It was a good night. )

Color Inspiration #50

kristina is celebrating her 50th challenge, so i had to squeeze in a little time to make a card this week. i just love these little happy mushrooms and glad i finally got to use them.

it's been a rainy day here in kentucky. but thank goodness it's warm!

been busy!

phew...it's hard to keep up with a blog! i've been ridiculously busy lately!

we're still working on the living room. the walls & ceiling has drywall and the fireplace is up and ready to get tiled. michael has started to tape and mud. it's a dusty mess! i am ready for it to be done!

at work we've been getting ready for the Kentucky Derby which is next weekend, May 2nd.  I have a cute dress picked out to wear but I need to run to the craft shop to get a feathery head piece together. i'm bypassing a hat because they are just too expensive!  my boss and i also painted a horse for Gallopalooza. that was quite a task but it turned out great. click here to see a picture of "A Horse of a Different Feather." can you see the nbc peacock feathers?!

one more thing that is exciting for me...i have been asked to join a group called the "Female Art Collective" which is a group of female artists around the Louisville area.  they really like my handmade cards and little owls! The two ladies in charge of the group are going to open their shop up at the end of May and we will all have our artwork for sale through that site.  it's going to be fantastic! so i've been busy making cards for that shop instead of my own etsy shop.  they are going to be doing a lot of advertising, so hopefully i will make some sales through the FAC!

i was also asked to do an interview last week about my etsy shop. read it here!

that just about sums up the last few weeks of my life!
